Mixing Business with Pleasure!!

I have just returned from a week in Geneva and the glorious Zermatt.  This time I decided to combine our old boys Commodity Traders walkies and e-biking with some work.  I had the genuine pleasure of meeting some of my clients in person for the first time, met some old colleagues/friends and had an absolutely cracking time up the mountains with the boys.

Zoom is undoubtedly a great tool and allows me to have clients all across the globe, but you cannot beat sitting down and talking to a human on a face-to-face basis.  I also used the trip and my network to make some introductions and even sneaked in an excellent game of Padel.

I think I have probably helped to start a Geneva Trading Padel club, because all three newbees seemed to love it.  I would encourage anyone who hasn’t tried it, to give it a go, it’s a class game!!

The time in Zermatt with the lads was the best we have yet and was the usual mix of pushing our bodies and minds to the limit, combined with some serious chats about important issues and lots of talking complete rubbish and laughing ourselves to tears.

We did push the boundaries a step too far on one evening and got brokered into ordering way too many buckets of fondue.  The end result was a bad night for our ageing digestive systems and some tired looking faces the next morning.

Putting the cheese to one side, the whole trip made me feel really quite privileged. Trading gave me these friends, the financial freedom and time to travel and the chance to build my own coaching business.  We all need a helping hand from lady luck from time to time and I am very happy she delivered for me and I am where I am!!

Luck only carries you so far though and most of my success has been down to me.  I have enjoyed the highs, learned from the mistakes and the subsequent lows and made big decisions when they needed making.

Crucially and in the main I didn’t compare myself to others or let my ego make those big decisions, whether that be my trading or my life and career choices.  I did what felt authentically right for me and that included exiting stage left at the tender age of 37 and with plenty of trading miles left and P and L potential left on the clock.

It has all played out rather beautifully so far and I love working with others to help them develop and succeed.  In some cases, I am very confident my clients will progress further and achieve a whole lot more than I have.

Taking control and responsibility are absolutely key ingredients to any success, and I encourage everyone to make the most of any trading or life opportunity that comes their way, do not leave yourself with regrets.  If you think I might be the right person to help you get to where you want to be, DM me and lets have a no obligation chat about it.
